The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America
On June 8, CREW Chicago’s newly formed Equity & Inclusion Committee hosted author Richard Rothstein to elaborate and answer questions on his book The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America. This engaging event took participants through a brief history of segregation perpetrated by the United States government specifically related to real estate, debunking the myth of “de facto” segregation. This well-attended event had more than 70+ participants and ended with Richard answering many questions about where we go from here and how we move forward while recognizing our history. Participants who registered early received a copy of the book, which delves further into the history of real estate segregation in America.
