October 3, 2022

Congratulations to CREW Chicago for hosting an amazing CREW Network Convention last week! The sold-out Convention hosted over 1,400 CRE professionals from the US, Canada, France, Italy, Mexico, Singapore, and United Kingdom. CREW Chicago had a strong showing with +90 of our members in attendance!  As host city, CREW Chicago organized the many amazing learning excursions, dine arounds, and volunteer needs throughout the week. A sincere thank you to the many volunteers that made Convention an overwhelming success!
Our chapter, members, sponsors, and city shined bright! The energy at Convention was electric. From the lineup of first-class speakers, distinguished CREW leaders, and relevant breakout sessions with a continued overarching focus on equity and inclusion, the 2022 CREW Network Convention was inspiring, informative, and so much FUN! Everyone relished the amazing opportunity to network in person with colleagues from across the world! Truly a first-class conference in a world-class city.
There is no better way to further the advancement and success of women in CRE than by supporting the education and sponsorship of those individuals seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees within real estate. With the support of your generous donations to the CREW Network Foundation in 2022, thirty (30) Network scholarships were awarded; and twenty (20) scholars were in attendance to accept and celebrate with their many new friends, mentors, and future employers!
With the energy and inspiration of Convention moving us all forward, I am excited to announce an enhanced DEI initiative CREW Chicago will be kicking off in 2023. Together with the guidance and expertise from Damaris Patterson Price at Working River Leadership Consulting, we will be advancing a unique and thoughtful pathway to CREW Chicago's strategic DEI vision. We will be leveraging specially curated member training content and a systemic member assessment. Expected outcomes will include developing internal change agents who are more competent and confident in the DEI space and a practical forward-looking approach with measurable goals established for our chapter. These initiatives will build upon the groundwork we have established and collaborate with the entire chapter. An initial working group is in formation and will be comprised of members from diverse experiences racially, generationally, regionally, and by professional discipline. If you have an interest in being a part of the initial working group, please contact me directly. I am happy to answer any questions and equally happy to receive constructive feedback to further our goals and support our membership.
I look forward to seeing you soon at our annual October Economics luncheon, Last Call for Fall, and the Annual Meeting in December.
Congratulations to all on a successful Convention!
