Broken Windows, Bombs, and the Birth of Chicago’s Colorline

The Shame of Chicago Documentary Series with Guest Speaker Natalie Moore.

Episode 1 of the Shame of Chicago Documentary Series, titled The Chicago Plan, unspools a buried history to shine a bright light on how, exactly, systemic racism entered the marrow and fiber of Chicago and its urban counterparts. At a moment when some are trying to rebury our history, this is all story people of good will need to know and share.

The four-part documentary series is written and produced by Bruce Orenstein of Duke University's Samuel DuBois Cook Center on Social Equity.

We will show a film clip called The Chicago Plan of 1909 which is 35 minutes long. After the showing, Natalie Moore will lead a discussion. Speakers will include the film maker Bruce Orenstein and Natalie Moore.
